How to analyse Mise-en-scene

Elements of mise-en-scene:
costume

location
body language

As people we are extremely visual and our brains personal interpretation of sight
is a three dimensional image with depth and persepctive. A camera however only
sees the world as a two dimensional image resulting in flatter imagery. In film and
television industries , evolution of lighting techniques , framing , set design and shot
composition has created the impression of depth and perspective. This also provides
a sense of realism and adds phychological meaning to the particular scene.
As a Media student it is essential that i work out what additional effects is included by
these techniques such as how the location/ acting/ costume contribute to this significant factor.
lighting
makeup
facial expressions
