facial expressions and body language

Zoe:
  • smiling broadly in a way which the audience will precept as frightening
Villain from Nightmare on Elm Street smiling in a frightning, smug manner
  • intense avid gaze which stares at the screen scarily
Villian from the Grudge looking intensely at an off screen object/person, intended to make the audience  be besides themself with fear
  • teeth bared to evoke barbarity
Dracula in a position which is meant to make the audience feel unease
  • upright body posture to demonstrate her dominance over the subordinates
Upright body posture and positioning of hands round the victims neck displays the strength of his character as 'The Halloween movie' villian.
  • confident walk to again establish her superiority
Silence of the lambs: His smug expression shows the position of his role within this movie, though the bare surroundings suggetss that he is quite barbaric like Zoe's character.
  • Light, dainty movements to imply cunning
Jigsaw from the movie Saw moves daintily in a manner so he can scare his subjects in a way which we want to incoperate for zoe
Hannah:
  • Widening of eyes, capturing intensity of gaze
The exorcist screenshot of the villian with a look of intensity that seems to be laughing in a manner which is filled with power differential to the way in which Zoe's expression is shown.
  • blank expression otherwise to contrast against the avidity of the eyes

As you can see by this image (the Paranormal activity film) Her expression -from the little you can see from it- is quite blank and obscured by her long flowing hair giving a sense of ambiguity to the shot construction.

  • hunched over
The last exorcism hunched over obscuring her identity. What is intriguing is how there seems to be blood on the nape of her neck.
  • shrouded by darkness so her appearance is vague
The blair witch project victim surrounded by darkness with a torchlight to emphasize the side features of his face.

Me:
  • widening of the eyes to  demonstrate shock and horror
Good evidential basis of a film poster which has captured a look of shock enhanced by the hand by the mouth as well as the thick eye liner which has been used. This would be a good look to replicate.
  • slow smile when i become possessed
This smile is very freaky , making the audience feel nervous and uneasy at the prospect of what is going to happen.
  • trembling when i get chased to express my characters vulnerability and inferiority
30 days of night victim running away quickly showing the fear of what is hunting him.
  • jerky jagged movements which are non-synchronized
Chucky doll uses jerky movements that seems out of proportion.
